Just as it sounds, a Bee B&B Hotel is a bed and breakfast – you are providing a ‘bed’ for the bees and the plants in your school’s garden will be their ‘breakfast’. Your Bee B&B Hotel will provide native solitary bees, and other pollinators, a place to live while they pollinate your garden. Importantly it will also provide a ‘nursery’ where they can build their families and help regenerate native bee communities.
The project aims to teach young children, in Years 3 – 6, how to help conserve our native solitary bee populations, thereby supporting ecosystem biodiversity and food security.
A huge thank you to the hundreds of schools already registered. We have been overwhelmed by the response and have now sent over 300 Weleda Bee B&B Hotels to Schools around Australia. We hope you have enjoyed setting up your Bee B&B Hotel and teaching your students about these important pollinators.
We will be releasing 200 more Weleda Bee B&B hotels in September 2017, so please register your interest and we’ll be in touch with you as soon as we have more Bee B & B Hotels available.
